If you have an iOS device and your location is not updating, please follow the troubleshooting steps described below.
Also, if your friends' location is not updating on your device and they have an iOS device, please refer them to this page. 👍
You may check the location service and WiFi settings on your phone. It's important that both GPS and Wifi(even if they are not connected) are activated on your phone.
Please note that accuracy depends on many factors, such as your environment and your phone. There are moments when the highest accuracy will not be available(underground for example).
Please refer to the below instructions for the detail.
Enable Location Service 🔄
- Settings > Privacy > Location Services > iSharing > "Always"
- From the same screen, check that the "Precise Location" toggle is turned ON.
- Settings > General > Background App Refresh > On, iSharing > On
Turn on Wi-Fi 📶
iSharing uses Wi-Fi signals to estimate a current location when a GPS signal is not available(indoor or underground). We recommend you turn on Wi-Fi even if you don’t use it.
- Settings > Wi-Fi on
Make sure Internet connection is active 🌐
Since iSharing updates your location via 3G/LTE/WiFi, your iPhone always should be connected to the internet.
- Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data "on", iSharing "on"
Disable Low Power Mode 🔋
If enabled, these settings can prevent iSharing from running in the background. Therefore, your location will only be updated for your friends when you open the application.
To check, go to Settings > Battery > and verify that Low Power Mode is disabled.
Enable Push notification 🚨
Go to Settings > Notifications > Make sure that iSharing is activated
Do not remove the app from background
iSharing needs to keep communicating with an iPhone even if it is in the background. Don't worry about the battery consumption. iSharing consumes just 1% of battery life over 24 hours.
