It's important to keep features on your smartphone such as GPS, Wi-Fi (even if it's not connected), Power Saving mode, and motion detection enabled. If these features aren't on, iSharing will not be able to accurately tell you your friend's or your own location history when accessed.
Here are examples that show you when these problems do arise:
Inaccurate Depiction Due to Disabled Motion - The location displayed is accurate, however disabled motion tracking will not be able to depict whether the user is in a vehicle or building, for example.
For a more detailed description of what motion means, visit:
- iOS Devices: visit Settings > Privacy > Motion & Fitness
- Android Devices: Settings > Privacy > Permission Manager > Physical Activity
Inaccurate Depiction Due to Disabled GPS - No location data can be collected. A disabled GPS means that iSharing will not be able to access your location.
Inaccurate Data Due to Disabled Wi-Fi - Your location is visible, but will not be accurate.
Inaccurate Depiction Due to Power Saving - The location shown will be accurate, however, the data will be limited. This means that the routes drawn can be missing at certain points.
