The Nearby Alert lets you know when a friend enters or leaves your 'zone' — a circular area around your own location. You can set the radius of the zone and change it at any time.
When a friend comes closer to you than the distance you set, you'll receive a "Ben: in the zone" notification. When they move farther away than that distance, you'll receive a "Ben: out of the zone" notification. It's especially useful for keeping an eye on your children in crowded places.
How to set up Nearby Alerts
Go to Menu > Manage Alerts > Nearby Alerts, turn on the Nearby Alerts toggle, drag the slider to set the range of distance, and tap Save.
If you're receiving Nearby Alerts too often, try narrowing the radius (for example, from 5 km to 1 km).
