The moment a Meetup ends, location sharing stops immediately. What stays for the next 7 days is not your location, but the Meetup record (title, time, and member list) only.
When is my location shared?
- Only while it's active. Before the Meetup starts, only the member list is visible — no locations are shown. Once the start time arrives, everyone's location becomes visible.
- Only inside the Meetup. Only members of the same Meetup can see each other's location, and it's not visible outside the Meetup. It doesn't affect your friend location-sharing settings.
What happens to my location when the Meetup ends?
- Location sharing stops immediately. When the end time is reached or the host ends the Meetup, members' locations are no longer shared and no longer shown on the map from that moment on (shown as "Ended").
- What stays for 7 days is a record, not a location. So you can look back at which Meetup you joined, the Meetup record (title, time, member list) stays in your list for 7 days. Locations are not shown in this record either.
- After 7 days, the record is gone too. Once 7 days pass, the Meetup record is automatically and permanently deleted.
FAQ
Q. After a Meetup ends, is my location still shared for 7 days? A. No. Location sharing stops the moment the Meetup ends. What stays for 7 days is only the Meetup record (title, time, members), and locations are not shown in that record.
Q. I want to stop sharing my location during a Meetup. A. If you leave the Meetup, your location is no longer shared. (If the host leaves, the Meetup itself ends.)
