If you see the "Low Power Mode" label under your friend's name, Low Power Mode (Power saving mode on Android) is turned on on their phone.
Why is it on?
Your friend may have turned it on, or their phone may have turned it on automatically when the battery got low. This label appears on both iPhone and Android.
How does it affect location sharing?
Low Power Mode limits apps running in the background, so your friend's location may not update until they open iSharing. You may see an outdated location, and Location History may have gaps.
How to turn it off
- iPhone – Go to Settings > Battery and turn off Low Power Mode.
- Android – Go to Settings > Battery and turn off Power saving mode. Menu names may vary by device.
Android: Also check Battery Optimization
If the "Stop Battery Optimization" label appears, Battery Optimization is restricting iSharing in the background. Go to Settings > Apps > iSharing > Battery and select "Unrestricted" (or "Don't optimize").
